OVERVIEW
In March of 2019, I was hired by Elevate Labs as their first full-time, in-house illustrator. One the primary tasks of the role involved creating illustrations to represent new meditations, known as Plans and Singles, for the Balance Meditation & Sleep app. Using a few illustrations that had already been created as visual references, I became deeply familiar with the visual identity and brand ethos of the Balance app and helped expand our offering of meditations over the course of five years.
As we grew our library of content, we created several meditation series that needed to be linked together visually. For instance, we had a series of music meditations crafted to help users sleep and focus; I themed the illustrations for this series as a collection of vinyl records with different designs on the sleeves.

Process
1.
I receive a brief and script for a new Single from the content team along with any guidance or restrictions they may have
2.
I research and gather inspiration for iconography that can represent the core concept of the new Single
4.
For the Self-Esteem single, I received feedback from my team to explore some less abstract ideas and present them with round 2 of my sketches
6.
I export the files in .PDF and .json formats and, after a final QA check, handoff files to the Engineering team for implementation
5.
After a sketch is chosen, I finalize the vector art in Illustrator and add it to my illustration library in Figma
3.
I sketch initial designs in Photoshop and create mockups in Figma for stakeholders to review
